Need help learning what type of lighting to buy for shooting architectural interiors

March 18th, 2010
  • What type of lighting should I buy in order to shoot my own architectectural interior shots with a digital slr.

I used to help a friend back in the day when we used film and color temp. mattered. I just don't know if any of this still applies with the digital cameras....

    Help.

Oh, and a word or two of advice on a good digital slr for professional quality photos for web sites and publications would be great too.

  • For interiors of buildings and rooms, I've alway relied on the natural lighting available in the room. Using a digital SLR, I would take a white balance reading of a grey card from the existing light sources in the room. Then setup a tripod, wired remote, set to aperature priority, and start shooting at f/8.
