Anyone have some fundraising ideas? ?

March 14th, 2010
  • So I need some really awesome fundraising idea's because I recently got accepted by a group called "Leaders today" to go build a school in Kenya this summer!

I'm really excited for it, the only problem is that I need to raise $5000 to go NOT including the money I will be putting towards the trip myself.

If you have any idea's of stores I could go to to ask for money, donations, ect. that would be great. Also, how much money do you think I could make going door to door?

Any help or suggestions would be fantastic!

    Thank you!

P.S I'm 16 and from Canada. I don't know if that will affect anything, but I thought I would say it anyways

  • I would ask any and all stores, churches and neighbors to donate. I feel most would given the cause. Also you could do yard sale, bake sale, car wash possibly. Best of luck to you in your endeavors.

  • When i was in Jr. High, my friends and I raised money for a trip by playing Christmas Music outside stores like Wal-Mart and Kmart. We just set out a coffee can and wrote "HELP US GET TO VIRGINIA" on it, and it totally worked! We even had a few people put $100's in it.
If you're not musically talented, you could try a car wash, in High School we raised about $5,000 doing that, and I live in a really small town, on an island, infact! You have a little time, so be creative! Put your atlents to use and see what you come up with.

  • I would make up a booklet explaining what it is your doing go around to restaurants and stores and hand it out and ask if they can donate a gift card r a product.........than hold a rafael up at the school r church wea ever you r allowed to do this for this program.

I worked in many stores part time and restaurants growing up saw this many times and every so often people got the donations they wea looking for.................does not hurt to try!!!
    Best of Luck Nicole!! =0)

  • You could have a Casino night. The guests purchase tickets to gamble and have a raffle or auction at the end for prizes which are donated from local businesses.

  • I found this site that has dozens of ideas for fund raisers. Hopefully you can find one, or combine two or three for a successful event.
    Good luck.

  • What about a FREE Coffee fundraiser?
Specialty coffee and beverages are an exploding market nationwide and it practically sells itself. Java Joe's Roasting Company is an upstate New York based coffee roaster, who specializes in fundraising. Organizations will realize a profit of $2.50 or more per bag sold. The products will be customized to promote your organization (free of charge) and there are no set up fees or minimums. This fundraising program is equitable and offers your supporters a first class practical product that is perfect for every day use. There are NO out-of-pocket expenses to your organization because you will be collecting payment for each order before you place it with the company, therefore, you are immediately in possession of your profit. You can even change the name of the product & have fun with it! Good luck! I hope I was able to help.

    p.s. My son's preschool made $2,496 during a 2 week campaign.

(and yes, they do business internationally!)
