Which foods can I cook early for Thanksgiving dinner?

March 15th, 2010
  • I am cooking thanksgiving dinner for about 6 or 8. This is going to occur on Friday at 6 pm because of our work schedule. I decided to cook the chicken tonite for the chicken and noodles so I can skim the fat off on Friday, then throw in the noodles, carrots and celery. I also made the cranberry stuff with the cherry jello and stuck it in the fridge this evening. I work tommorrow and the next day 12 hour shifts. The rolls are famous in our family and pre made in the freezer. I have potato's and sweet potato's and a frozen pumpking pie. Also a couple boxes of stove top stuffing which will be easy. What else can I make ahead of time to make it easier on me Friday?

  • nothing can really be made ahead of time except for the pie. good luck and happy thanksgiving

  • thats not the point of thanksgiving the point is to make stuff fresh

yuck im so happy im not eating at your house

  • Pumpkin pie

  • I'm eating tomorrow and plan to do peel and soak the potatoes today, bake the pumpkin pie today and then half bake the apple. I'll pop the apple in to finish while we are eating dinner so there is good smells going on! Report Abuse
