Many people on this very site mock Christianity. I think it is very odd that the non believers come here and check out what it is that the believers answer and ask. I believe that many people who criticize the Lord and ask foolish questions are wondering about their very own faith, why else would they be in the religious Q&A? Many people who are Atheist consider Atheism to be a culture and not a religion, so why don't they go into Culture & Groups Q&A and ask and answer there? All I can gather is that they are stuck and wondering about the Lord, faith, and our very own existence. That is why they choose to come in the Religion & Spirituality Q&A. No matter how they mock us... why can't they admit they're curious?Sure, I'm curious. I find the subject of religion very interesting. I like to see what faith does to people. I like to see what different faiths believe.
...But none of that means that I'm searching for anything. In fact, it's exactly the opposite. I grow more and more secure with my current spirituality as the years go by. I'm not "stuck" and I'm not "wondering" about anything; I AM curious, but only because I like studying this subject.
Why am I here? Like I've said above, I'm here because I like this subject. But I'm also here because religion is something that affects me in many ways. You don't have to be religious to have an opinion about religion, especially in this country where religion has such a big influence on politics and lawmaking.
I don't want to be converted. I know exactly why I'm not a Christian; I could give you a dozen reasons why I'm not, and that list grows longer and longer as I get older. But that's not why I'm here. Is it supposed to be?Just see it as an opportunity to speak the truth of Jesus. God Bless. When 68% of the population is shoving misinformed B.S. down my daughters throat and she comes home crying because someons mom saw her cradle of filth t-shirt and told her she will rot in eternity in the firy bowels of hell, it becomes a small issue.... And besides theres a real easy way for any christian to settle this debate... prove it!yeah.. so many people mocks our Lord. made me feel sad. pray for them.. bcause.. THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING.It's sad isn't it, that christians destroy non-christian nations these days?
Attack on civilians of muslim nations, deliberately blowing up mosques and turning poor countries into living hell.
Good huh?I can assure you now that coming in the religion section does not mean that Atheists want to be religious. And I doubt whether Christianity would be the religion of choice, it's so hypocritical. People can post where they want on here, that's the idea of it, and Atheism is a religious choice, it's justa choice not to follow traditional religion. I tell you who bugs me, people who believe that Christianity is the only way to go!This category is religion and SPIRITUALITY. A person does not have to be religious to be spiritual. Yesterday I walked, with my wife, for just 1/2 hour. In that time I experienced such wonders of nature, birds singing, the trees in blossom, the warm sun, the glory of my fellow humans. None of this needed any supernatural or occult explanation to enhance its wonders.
The other point is that - even though I am an atheist - what some Christians are doing effects me greatly. Just like with the FUN. Muslims, I cannot avoid the bombs or the political activity. and what the FUN. Christians are up to is very dangerous.
I try to avoid mocking a persons faith however I will attack dangerous beliefs which threaten the fundamental structure of our societyHey lady...Do not put me in your camp just because I believe in Gods. My Gods are very, very different then yours. Frankly I get along much better with Atheists than I ever had Monotheists.
Us "non-Christians" do not come here to seek your religion or to learn about Jesus. Your religion isn't the only one out there you know.
Oh and I mock your god because Christians mock mine, turn about is after all only fair play.Well observed and well said.you do realize this is one of the questions used for the drinking game?Personally, I am both mystified and amused by sky daddy beliefs. And as long as you promise not to discriminate against groups of people (see also homosexuality), try to sneak religion into science classes (see also creationism) or try to meddle with the state/church division I promise I will not bug you.Good question,I think many of them would like to admit it but pride stands in the way,who knows maybe what they say here and what they think privately are two different things.I'm an atheist and atheism is certainly not a culture. That would imply that all atheists behave the same way, have the same tastes or have the same knowledge. The only thing that all atheists have in common is that they lack belief in God.
The reason atheists ask questions that you may consider foolish or mocking is not because they are questioning their own beliefs, but because they want believers to question theirs.I can not thank you enough for your well thought out question.
The non-believers on here are mostly children and childish adults, who come here to try to prove that they are somehow smarter then other people.
As a Christian, I do not like name calling, but my observations
conclude that they are "little people, with big heads", just a fact, not an accusation. If you really think that atheists come here because we're secretly envious of your little fantasy, you're even more deluded that you first appear.
We're here because you people are scary as hell, interfere in our lives, and some of you are trying to end the world.
Oh, and - you're also a serious social evil, like racism. It's important to keep track of your bizarre mindset on survival grounds alone.
CDThey are not dear, many many people on this site admit it is fun to hurt,Christians are hated above all others.Yes,it is very
sad.God Bless.Hypocritical much? Keep you're crazy religion out of the schools and government, then we'll talk about Y!AI agree with you, but we should give atheism a right to exist. The moment we accept that there always will be people who don't beleive in God, this world will be a better place.i question Christianity because when Christianists colonized my country they forced people to convert under threat of death, so I like to learn what is the reason for this. Then I find out about all the glorification of pagan celebrations like b-days, xmas, easter. Now I understand better why they raped, killed, looted, and destroyed so much of my country in the past, they are very paganish. I am no atheist by the way.Nope. It's because you guys are the biggest threat our country/U.S. faces. To every person God has given a measure of faith, even if they deny God that measure of faith is still there. I agree with you Blessings..It's pretty clear from how often this comment is made that many believers are really aware of how untenable their beliefs are. You find the existence of atheists threatening, so you deny that we really exist. Clearly you know that you've made a mistake in hanging on to children's fairy tales, but you've invested so much of your identity in those fairy tales that you can't admit they're false.
Notice that the atheists who responded to your question gave mature, honest answers - while almost all of the believers who responded either thanked you for lying about atheists or lied about atheists themselves.
Doesn't the fact that believers have to lie so and try bury their heads in the sand tell you something about the quality of your beliefs? It should.Yes! Its pathetic!
I wish these heathens would leave us good Christians alone and stop mocking poor defenseless Jesus!!!
I mean he's just the poor master of the universe he needs our protection!!"All I can gather is that they are stuck and wondering about the Lord, faith, and our very own existence. That is why they choose to come in the Religion & Spirituality Q&A. No matter how they mock us... why can't they admit they're curious?"
ALL I CAN GATHER is that you are a hypocrite. you say you don't like critisizm, yet here you are bashing non believers. mostly athiests.
"i think it's sad don't you?"
yup hypocricy saddens meperhaps we entertain angels unawares
ok im putting a bit of a spin on it [perhaps demons is more accurate ]
regardless we are here to be with our brothers and sisters , our love for each other is as a flame , so the moths come to divide us and test our faith
they mock but is it not in our deeds we prove our faithI agree with you. I think their souls desire God and their minds get in the way. They are struggling and even though they mock and insult Christ...inside they are hoping for some insight, something that will strike them as truth.
They can't admit it because they see logic as the ultimate. Logic is their god and they worship "self"...this is very hard to give up.
They do want to be convinced but instead of meeting God halfway...they want to be convinced beyond all doubt before they take that first step. But that first step requires faith.
But you never know...things said and read on R&S may spark something in them and over time may grown into an undeniable desire for Christ. We can only pray!!I am a true born again Bible believing Christian, but if we don't have atheists and non believers on here, then who would I witness the Gospel of Jesus Christ to? Anyway, what you say is true. God Bless you for your honesty.#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
