I currently hold an H1B visa. The company that I am working now just
started the Greencard application process for me. I was wondering
whether I will be able to go to school to do PhD, if I quit my job
before I get my Green Card?
I assume I need to get a non-immigrant visa to go back to school. (I
am not a US citizen, I do not have a Green card) In the non-immigrant
visa application form there is a question: "has anyone ever filed an
immigrant visa petition on your behalf?" It makes me think that if I
say 'yes' to this question, they will not give me a student visa.
(student visa is a non-immigrant visa). Is this correct? Under what
conditions, if I can at all, can I go to school if I quit my job now?I know that there are a couple of Researchers who are quite savvy
