Why do people report your questions or answers when they aren't actually violations?
March 11th, 2010Take a classic example. If someones asks "Where is an abortion clinic in Whatever City, USA?". Many responders will give their opinion about the evils of abortion and not to do it, but all of those will be violations, because these posters would never give the location requested. Those responders should never answer the question.
No matter what, if you post, the post must contain a helpful answer to the question actually asked.
Another example trolls post. "Who is the cutest Jonas Brother?". If you answer "the Jonas Brothers are a waste of time", that is an opinion, but it is also a violation and the asker will violate every one.
A vast majority of the time, opinion answers are not removed for the opinion, but for a violation of one of the formatting rules of YA. If you have specific examples, post the violation e-mail in a question here and other users will help you see the nuances of the system.
let them read your question and feel like a total d!ck
