My child is 18 months and he seems to be developing his learning skills quite successfully. The only problem is that he hardly talks at all. He knows, and fully understands the meaning of, around 3 to 5 words. Is something wrong, or am I just panicking?Watch this!!! It will explain you much http://www.diggmedia.net/index.php?q=My son is 16 years old. He is a fine citizen who does well in school and is very much liked by his peers and teachers. He shows me love and respect every day and is a joy to be around. He has a great sense of humor and dry wit that shows how intelligent he is. He did not speak until he was 3 1/2 years old. Don't worry. Einstein didn't speak until he was 4. And don't listen to the worry wort professionals who try to make mountains out of molehills. All children have their own time frame in which they make the next accomplishment. Just love and enjoy your beautiful child, they grow up much faster than you would think. Good luck and take care!he'll probably catch up- he should understand a lot of what you say to him- he may not be able to say it, but he should understand simple commands like" get me your shoes or come here or something.
my son's 18 month appt was today and they said he should be saying 15-20 words
actually saying words wouldn't bother me much but the fact that he doesn't understand things might mean he has a hearing problemEvery child does things at different paces. Maybe he finds that he doesn't have to talk in order to get what he wants, so he doesn't feel the need to verbalize. Keep working with him. Maybe by the time he is 2yrs.old, he will be talking the horns off a goat.Don't worry every child ages gracefully, some kids don't say a word till 4 yrs old, he will talk in due time, when he feels ready to talk try some signing to communicate better. GOOD LUCK!You are panicking.
My neighbor, who is 2 1/2 just started speaking words that are not like (mama, dada, bottle etc) and she is perfectly fine.
When my first son was three, he was speaking like a five year old.
Every kid is different and they all learn at their own pace on their own time.#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
