  • Was Pancho Villa (real name Doroteo Arango) from Colombia?

  • Hi mariax: No, Pacho Villa (born Doroteo Arango) was born in San Juan del Rio, Durango, Mexico. Pancho Villa, Outlaw / Revolutionary URL: http://www.answers.com/topic/pancho-villa Quote: "Born: c. 1877 Birthplace: San Juan del Rio, Durango, Mexico " Pancho Villa URL: http://history1900s.about.com/cs/panchovilla/p/panchovilla.htm Quote: "Overview of Pancho Villa: Pancho Villa was born Doroteo Arango, the son of a sharecropper at the hacienda in San Juan del Rio, Durango." In fact, I can find no evidence that Villa ever even visited Columbia. Search Strategy (on Google): * "Doroteo Arango" biography "was born" * "pancho villa" columbia -encyclopedia -pictures -District Hope this helps! websearcher

  • I found an article (in Spanish) in El Tiempo (Newspaper) from Colombia where they are interviewing Pancho Villa?s granddaughters, Rosa Helia and Guadalupe, and when they were asked about this particular issue their answer was that they do not for sure. The interview took place February 26, 2005 in Bogota-Colombia. I cannot find a translation. I am sorry you could not help me this time. Thank you very much! • I'm sorry you were so unsatisfied with my response. Like you, I was not able to find any collaboration to this "controversy" on the Internet. I wish you luck. websearcher

  • I have nothing to do with you requesting a refund - so my confirmation is meaningless. From the help files: ****************** To request a refund, you'll need the question ID number for the answer that is unsatisfactory. Go to "My Account" and select "Answered Questions." Choose the question for which you would like a refund. You can see the ID number in the right side of the window. While keeping this window open, launch a second window in your browser (Ctrl+N in Internet Explorer). Type or paste the ID number into the "Question ID" space on the refund page. Please supply the reason for your request - your refund cannot be processed without this explanation. The reason will be posted on the site along with the question and answer since this will provide useful information to other users. ****************

  • Thank you for your efforts. However, I am not happy with the answer, I am requesting a refund. PLS CONFIRM.

  • There is a lot of controversy of when and where I was born. Pancho Villas?family origins and early years have been confused by different and poorly documented informations. There are some theories that suggest he was actually born in COlombia, South America. Some of these theories suggest there is no interest to find the true about the real place where he was born, he is a ?national hero? and it?s better if mexicans continue to believe this legendary caracter was in fact mexican. I tried to find more information about it on the internet but my attempts have failed.

  • Unhappy w/ answer.
