I'm thinking about getting a violin from Amazon. But I don't know how to play or how to do the maintenance. And I don't want to spend a lot of money. Tips and comments welcomed. If it is just a fluke thing that will be discarded after a couple months of use, then by all means go to Amazon to get one.
If you are serious in playing, going to a music store is the best way to get a decent violin and a cheaper price, in comparison to the costs of really good violins these days.
Maintenance is not that hard. If you play a lot, then maintenance is more difficult but it isn't hard. After you finish a session, you wipe off the rosin dust under the place you play so that the rosin doesn't eat at the varnish. The bow gets rehaired every year or so. The strings get changed about every 6 months. And every 2 months or so, you get some polish and make it shiny. :]IMHO yoho - do not even think about buying a violin - esp. not from Amazon!
Get an electronic keyboard (for around 200USD) and learn piano/keyboards first - you can always switch to violin later!nv get a violin online...insist ur violin to be bought at a music store and tried but u at least to see if u like the sound although i guarantee u that it will be terrible as a lot of things affect the sound of a violin...most important parts are the age of the violin wood(older is better) and the quality of the strings(gut strings are the best!) but i recommend u to get a beginner's set...its usually equipped with a brand new violin and the strings are steel core so its easy to hear the notes...#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
